Last year I had hunted from a few pop-ups that I had set up a few months before the 2009 - 2010 season start. Not much success with the pop-ups, they were just to difficult to lug around and sometimes they tended to be a bit difficult to set up. That all changed once I got my GhostBlind, now I could hunt the way that I really enjoyed, all day and in multiple spots.

Early morning November 14th, I took my GhostBlind and set up in a new spot that I had been eyeing all year. There were scrapes and trails everywhere. I set up the GB about 30 yards across from the scrapes and sat down and got quit. After the fog lifted I saw a yearling buck walk across the sendero and back in the woods. Meanwhile I just happen to glance to my right and saw 2 mature buck back behind the oak trees. The first buck was a young 8 point and the second was the biggest 6 point I had ever seen. They ducked back into the cover and I lost them for a few minutes, next thing I knew here comes the "Big 6" working the scrape line that I was hunting. He had no idea that I was even there, he took his time inching his way down into bow range. As soon as he was within 30 yards, I drew my Elite bow back and released the arrow. The 5.5 year old, "Big 6" never knew what hit him, he ran about 300 yards and crumpled. Six points or not, he was a bonifed 'monster,' scoring 122 6/8" (see picture).

This year my success continued with the harvest of a "True Texas Monster."  Again, I was back out for my third year guiding and hunting on Squaw Mountain Ranch (www.squawmountainwhitetails.com).  I went out the day before opening morning to pull a couple of cameras that I had set up, not far from where I took the big 6 last season. I decided to set out in the morning a to hunt a food plot that we called the "Elk Blind."  Not much happened opening morning except for the fact that I missed a bobcat at 40 yards from behind the GhostBlind.I went back in the afternoon knowing that the deer would probably move early. Sure enough I had a 3 monsters come within 25 yards of me (170"+and 2 200"+). Not wanting to spoil my entire season, shoot the first buck that walked out, I let them walk hoping I would see them again.

Two days later, I had a chance to get back out to food plot and hunt again. It would be a day I would never forget. I left the lodge around 3:30, set up the GB and sat down and waited. I picked up my phone to check the time and play a few games of solitaire to pass the time. Minutes later, I saw a glimpse of a heavy white antler glistening in the sun only 16 yards from me. I didn't have time to think, I drew my bow back and watched the deer come out from behind a small mesquite brush. As soon as his vitals cleared the brush, I grunted stopping the deer in his tracks and released the arrow. It was a perfect shot, the huge deer ran 30 yards up the hill and crashed. Knowing that I had just shot a monster 8 point, I ran back to the Bad Boy and back to camp. Stunned and shocked I walked into the lodge, raising my hands in pure excitement. "I did it!" I screamed to the other hunters that didn't go out. I looked down at my phone it was only 6:15, we got in the truck and headed back down to retrieve the biggest trophy whitetail of my life. Sure enough the deer was right where I thought we was, crumpled under a tree, but what I didn't know it was a beautiful 10 point with a 2" kicker off the back. He scored 180 2/8" (see picture) Soon, I'll have the mount of a buck of a lifetime hanging in my den next to what will probably be the biggest six pointers I'll ever see in the woods. As the title of this story alludes "The GhostBlind works for me!"
